Film Language: Film poster analysis

The boy with no fear
The colour scheme of this poster is light black and a bold yellow Italic heading.The use of the colours blue black and yellow hold many connotations, as the colour blue and yellow could suggest freedom and open. However, the colour black could also suggest there is dark side to it.The boy is looking in a hole, which suggests its very mysterious and the hole could perhaps hold many secrets.The title 'I'm not scared'  makes the reader think as the boy could actually be scared of going down the hole. In this still image the boy seems to hold power and dominance but fears the hole could brake his believe of not being scared.

Million Dollar Baby: 
Considering the position of the main actor is in, shows her to be very powerful and dominant. The background is faded black but you can vaguely see her shoulder muscles, which indicates that she's perhaps a fighter or gym workout. The lady is the central image of poster which
might suggests she's the 'million dollar baby'. The colour black is associated with power, elegance, death and evil. However, from this image we can understand that there's power hierarchy and many mysteries.  The faded face images on the right hand side and left hand side shows the interpretation that there's both evil and good.

Uzak:
This film poster shows a man standing beside a lake, this shows that he's a lonely and a isolated character.It shows the main character to be an outsider, who is distanced from reality and relationships.The revolting smoke packed in the city, suggests its a abandoned area. From the poster we understand that he is perhaps the main character within this film and carries out many mysterious.

Scary Movie 4:
The use of the colour black indicates that they trying to show a sense of evilness and death. However, considering Scary Movie 4's central image of 6 people with colourful props and exaggerating facial expression suggest its more of a family comedy genre film. The sue of the font at the top of the poster 'Absolutely Hilarious' instantly tells the viewers that is not gob-smacking horror typed film.The use of the different bright colour indicates that its targeted at teenagers.

Sin city:
The poster depicts a action film. The large gun they are all holding ready to fire prove this to us.Also, at the bottom of the film poster we can see a small city, which matches the title of the film, it lets us know where the film is going to take place, it is dark and raining. The use of the colour black makes us understand that this involves characters with overriding power and evil acts. Furthermore, the colour red gives the connatations that this film has scenes of both love and blood.


The blade runner:
The use of the animated characters in the central image gives it a sci fi essence. But looking at the main character' Harrison Ford' gun shows that it involves action and murder.The movie name 'the blade runner' indicates that there's a race. Furthermore, the the women could be the enemy and tries to make Harrison ford mission unsuccessful. The use of the brightly lit lights in the city, shows where the film is going to be set.The use of the  colour black signifies power and evilness within the film 'The blade runner'.

Bride and prejudice
The use of the bright colours indicates that this a joyful and happy film. The central image shows a man and women back to back, both smiling, which suggest a romantic and comedy genre type film. The backgrounf shows lots of people celebrating.Considering the film name, prehaps they got married.
